Who We Are
As a non-profit organization, our mission is to guide and empower the Treasure Valley to help itself through the support of socially responsible local business members that understand and accept the strength of their business can only be that of the community it’s in. The two grow together and together we can reach further.
The immeasurable has value.
The People Helping People Group solves problems that can’t be solved by any other individual entity or service. They’re business alignment specialists that bridge the gap between those in need, those in need of goods and services, and those that provide them.
John Miller; Founder, CEO
John’s reason for starting the People Helping People Group is straight forward -if you can help someone in need, you should. He learned this from his grandfather who spent his life helping people because, as he put it, it’s the right thing to do. This was reinforced through John’s mother’s actions as well. She ran a local food bank as a volunteer and now, at 83, is still helping people. Neither asked for recognition or rewards for helping others.
These are the tenements of the People Helping People Group: To be helped, you must help those you can. With PHP, donators and members know who they’re helping and how they impact those recipients. No business is stronger than the well-being of its community and no community is stronger than the well-being of its individuals.
Rhonda Phillips; Treasurer
Rhonda is not only a master of all things bookkeeping, she’s also a founding member and a huge part of why the People Helping People Group exists. She first became involved as a volunteer before the group’s inception. Together, Rhonda and John created the business functionality of PHP. In addition to her role as Treasurer of the People Helping People Group, Rhonda and her team work with PHP members to make their business financially stronger.
